PROJECTS

SumoVolley

Visuals (2D)/ Character Animation (2D)

SumoVolley is a fun and competitive volleyball game with sumo wrestlers, developed for iOS and Android.

I joined Superswipe Games in the summer of 2021 to help with visuals and background/character animations. I use Spine to make the animations (bones, skins, meshes, weights etc.), which are then imported in Unity.

OmoTomO

Visuals (3D & 2D)/ Marketing

I worked on a puzzle game (PC, Mac), that was originally developed by Malik Benabdallah. Helping with game visuals (2D & 3D), while also doing some marketing, such as market research. I made some concept art, created 3D models with Blender and designs for promotional products, using the Adobe Suite.

OmoTomO was first released in August 2019 and is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

The Realms of Below and Beyond

Visuals (3D & 2D)/ Character Animation (3D)/ Narrative & Educational Texts/ Sound Design/ Voice Acting/ Game Mechanics

This game project started as my ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts) bachelor project. It's an Educational Adventure Game in 3D, played in first-person.

Its main focus is soil biology. The player gets to discover a few facts about species living in the soil, while following a main story line, having dialogues with the creatures and solving small puzzles to progress in the game.

For this project, I collaborated with my brother Oliver Martin, who is a scientist. He helped me with all the scientific research involved in this project.

One Last Memory

Visuals (3D & 2D)/ Animation (3D)/ Storytelling/ Sound Design/ Voice Acting

'One Last Memory' is a game I started developing with Ava Thalheim for a school project, in the 4th semester at ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts), where we studied Game Design together. It's a first-person mystery adventure game made in Unity.

For this project, I worked on 3D visuals using Maya, created 3D textures using Substance Painter and also created 2D game visuals, using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

I animated the secondary character, a teddy bear called Bozo, in Blender. I did the voice acting for this character, as well as the voicing of the protagonist. I recorded environment sounds for the game and used REAPER and Audacity for editing.

'One Last Memory' is a narrative puzzle game with a strong storyline. Ava Thalheim helped me come up with puzzles and the main plot, which then led me to write all texts and dialogues for the game.

We exhibited our game at Fantasy Basel 2019.

Turnip for Two

Visuals (2D)/ Implementation (Unity)

'Turnip for Two' is a video game I created with my entire Game Design class in 3 days, as part of a school assignment at ZHdK.

I worked on 2D environment visuals and helped implementing our visuals/particle effects to meet the tight deadline.

Multiplayer

Visuals (2D)/ Animation/

Sound Design

'Multiplayer' is a deathmatch multiplayer game with cool weapons and four fun characters to choose from. I worked with Ava Thalheim and Emma McMillen on this ZHdK school project.

I mainly worked on game visuals (game characters and other assets). I also created different walking, idle, jumping and dying animations for all characters.

Polar Rescue

Visuals (2D & 3D)/ Game Mechanics, Sound Design

'Polar Rescue' is a little game prototype I developed while studying Game Design at ZHdK. Its theme is global warming and polar bears facing a risk of extinction.

I made the 3D models with Maya and imported the assets to Unity. I programmed the game using the C#

Underslayer

Board game concept/ Designs/ board game production

I created a board game with Tom Barylov, while studying Game Design at ZHdK. We developed the game concept together and produced the board game ourselves.

It's a 2 - 6 players game. The aim of the game is to find the dragon and defeat it. There are different territories the player can come across. The player also uncovers mystery cards and discovers treasures during gameplay, which allow him/her to grow an army.

Starshell

Narration/ Gamebook Mechanics/ Visuals (2D)

I developed and wrote a gamebook with the help of Tom Barylov, Ava Thalheim, David Hunziker and Viviane Christen, which was part of a ZHdK school project.

This gamebook offers the choice of 5 characters who ought to follow the same mission, but who live on different planets. Each of the characters has a special ability and offer a different set of skills at the start of the story, which can later be upgraded. The book also contains a combat system (played with a dice), the possibility of characters dying and alternative endings.
